"Is There Anything More Boring Than Writing Christmas Cards?" Yep,listening to a monotone powerpoint presentation abt covid? "Next slide please" Aaaaaaaggghhhhhh!!
I dont mind writing cards, and one thing I would find more boring, is to enter all my friends and relatives' names and addresses into a PC to create a database and then work out how to print out labels!
Last year I sent six Christmas cards, this year it will be three.
I dislike receiving cards, they get opened and then put in a pile somewhere before getting thrown out on Boxing Day. Fortunately we receive fewer and fewer each year as people finally respect our wishes to not send any to us. It’s unnecessary these days, as a means of keeping in touch, what with emails, texts, etc.
Give the money to charity instead, as we do.
I always donate to charity at Christmas, usually the Sally Army who provide meals for the homeless. Like Vagus, any Christmas cards we get are read and put to one side, not displayed. And after Christmas they are fodder for the woodburner.
I enjoy writing out Christmas cards and receiving them, but that is probably because I don't send or receive half as many as I used to do years ago. It used to take me all night at one time to write my cards out. Do I miss those days, you bet your life I do.
I said it was boring but actually it wasn't, I've done them,Mr B has provided coffee and sandwiches while I have Smooth radio on my Alexa, a good job done 0:)
when I retired from work first Christmas I received a lot of cards from workmates. I hung them everywhere and counted about 75. Brother came up and he couldn't believe it, Ach away that wi ye - you sent them to yourself. Yip sure I paid all the postage, no way hosay. LOL
