Having your alcohol and enjoying it
11 Answers
I submitred this question on Food & Drink, but it's probably better I posted it here to so....
What would be the best way to drink without vomiting? It's kind of a weird and slightly embarrassing question, but as of late, no matter how much alcohol I consume in one night I don't feel tipsy or jolly or any of the positive effect booze does to lighten the mood, all it seems to do (and this is in special ocassions when I drink beyond my usual 'intentionally do not want to be drunk' limit) for me is make me feel nauseous at the end of the night.
So any tips on how to enjoy a jolly night out? Should I eat well before I drink or leave an empty stomach? I mix my drinks by so does everyone else it seems.

Oh yeah that makes a lot of sense Ward~Minter, seeing as you know me so well and the last time I had a drink was couple of my weeks ago.....It's my friend's birthday, we want to have fun and drinking is a part of it. I respect people who chosen the dry path, but I don't see anything wrong with drinking in as long as it's not addictive or results to hostility...I don't want this to turn into a debate by the way.

Eat well but also, if you can, have a glass of milk before you go out. I don't like milk on it's own but I put a spoonful of nesquik in! Just remember, if you are sick, it's for a reason - your body can't take anymore and needs to get rid of the poison....I wish I would listen to my own advice sometimes.
I have tried all sorts of suggestions including those above. My problem is that even after one pint of a very weak lager or bitter, my stomach is in knots and I feel the need to vomit and if I don't I feel queasy for around about 8 hours. My options: don't drink. WM's is the best advice.
Not much fun for my friends, but I can still have fun and the odd drink occasionally. As dinga said, it is your body telling you something is wrong and my GP is still trying to find out what mine is saying, including probes in unmentionable places.
Not drinking may be slightly embarassing with the usual digs and taunts, but not as embarassing as being sick after a pint of Fosters.
