Have You Ever Considered Doing A ‘ Reggie Perrin ‘?
64 Answers
Just a bit of fun but a friend tells me she’s fed up with her family. The kids only call when they want something and the husband does his own thing in his own busy world. A light-hearted conversation with a lot of laughs - but she says she’s considering doing a Reggie Perrin… just simply disappearing and letting them all get on with it. If you ever considered that option where would you go and what would you do?

I walked out one day, couldn't take it any more.
Slept in rough ground in a local nature reserve, and teamed up with an alcoholic we called, '' Lambrini Man.'' He knew all the scams for getting free booze from the clubs in and around Chester.
No phone, just a few quid, but lasted a few days, then a friend of a friend had a few bedsits, and I went there for a few nights.
Made contact with my wife again, and she came and picked me up.
One of the first alcoholic blow outs and breakdowns I had ever had.
It was Xmas so the kids were too preoccupied to notice me gone, and my wife told them something, I know not what.
Sad days indeed.
