Who are over the moon that they have a valid excuse this Xmas not to have to visit or invite family over for the big day. I know I am! I've just kept a serious face on and said, I prefer to not take the chance, and to keep you all safe. :0)

Oh yes, I have spent many a Christmas working my butt off prepping, shopping cooking only to cry my eyes out from exhaustion after a barrage of criticisms. The tree and table not coordinated like me you used to When you were married to Mark, roast spuds not right, gravy too thick, haven't you got any Bristol cream etc.... You don't make a proper effort anymore etc...

a lot of your visitors who are breaking up choose Xmas for one of the rounds - sort of in public - and make the final round and break at Easter following. Having been an observer of this for 50 y
doing take it personally - it wd have happened anyway

Usually as many as 30 people in our family get together but not this year .We will all stay in our own homes .
This virus is lethal and if people persist in rebelling and doing their own thing then it will probably lead to a big spike in January.
I remember one of my uncles telling us about the 'flu pandemic in 1918. He was 18 at the time and had a girl friend the same age. They both had the 'flu and afterwards the added complication of Encephalitis Lethargica. Sadly his girl friend died and he had a further 70 years of complicated medical problems . Parkinsons symptoms---shakes, stiffness, dribbling, shuffling and lurching along.Fortunately his mental capacity was unaffected. Couldn't follow his ambition to be a policeman though.
We don't know how long the after effects of this present virus will stay in peoples' bodies. Why put yourself and your families at risk ?

Yes bhg ,I never thought that we would be experiencing anything like that virus again. Whenever anyone says-'I am still having after -effects months afterwards,I can't help thinking about my uncle and all the others who suffered like he did. He went into Calderdale hospitals to have operations and he was one of the first to be put on the drug L-Dopa. That was a challenge because too little and he dribbled and shook but too much made him go rigid. All through it though he kept all his mental facilities -thank goodness.
