Infected lip

My friend has cut the inside of his lip playing football and it looks a little infected. He doesn't have a fever or feel too bad, it just hurts a lot. Any advice on what he can use to help it heal and stop being infected?

Keep it swilled with salt water, Strepsils now have a Strepsil that is anaesthetic and antiseptic, that will also help.

He could try frequent rinses with salt water, will probably sting at first but is a natural way to help.

Tea tree mouthwash. It`s antiseptic & alcohol free. A lot of throat lozenges which are antiseptiic are also sugar free, but contain artifical sweetners. Some of these sweetners can cause diarrohea especially SORBITOL.
