Anyone have any experience of a dog becoming more reactive to other dogs shortly after castration?

It takes a while for the castration to take effect I believe, 4/6 weeks.
The only thing that you can rely on castration doing is preventing the dog siring puppies. It usually helps with behaviour that is indubitably sex linked like legging it after entire female dogs but not always. The klady who taught me to drive had a neutered male spaniel who was perfectly capable of mounting a *** and tyking with her
oh for heaven's sake female dog then
Yes. Our Rodney became snappy with other dogs for about 3 months after neutering. He gradually got better, but we still have no idea if he’s going to be friendly or not when he meets a dog.

Thank you for your answers and links.
Dylan was castrated on Wednesday and we have had to take him out on very short walks on the lead.
Thursday and Friday he was jumping and lunging to get at other dogs we met and we thought we'd made a big mistake having him 'done'.

However, today, he has been much more settled and actually has greeted other dogs in a friendly manner. Phew!
