Im very sad because my grandmother has been instructed by her consultant that she is extremely vulnerable and must not mix with people. What will probably be her last Christmas she will probably spend alone. But none of us wish her to contract Covid which we understand to be a horrible death.
It's a horrible situation to be in with horrible choices to be made.

An awful situation to be in, BM. And horrible though this may sound, it more makes me wish we could allow humans a better quality of dying. I really hope that doesn't offend you... but I wish she could make her genuine choice, without being made to suffer for it.
Does anyone know.... if there is a maximum allowed? I spoke to my parents, in their 70s. And frankly, they are expecting us all to go for lunch. No partners, just immediate family... that is still 12 people and 4 households. But it is also my granddaughter's 5th birthday on Christmas day.... nobody is prepared to leave her and her mum out.
