Bars and Pubs in Wales can be open but not sell alcohol.
Is there any law that says you can’t bring and consume your own into the premises, if people are missing that social aspect of a bar/pub.

They can legally allow you to drink your own alcohol on the premises without charging you a fee. (Muslim restaurant owners will often do this; where their religion disallows them to sell alcohol but they still permit people to drink it on the premises).

Where on earth do you go, emmie, where you have to pay £15 for a burger and chips? Many pubs I know (not Wetherspoons, which is even cheaper but which many people don't like) do a similar meal for between £7 and £10. For example, a "Classic Burger" here is just £9.49:
