binding machines

I have decided to write a little story book for my lovely little neice or is it niece? Anyway as she is only two I wanted to laminate each page and then bind it together along the idea of the spiral notebooks that we can buy.
Is it possible to get a binding machine that will bind laminated paper? I would like one that was able to be used for A4 and A5 paper.
Is it also possible to publish your own books ie the actual sticking the pages and cover together part? I would like the end result to be like a paperback.
I would be grateful for any assistance that any of you could give me in this matter.
Susan.......in a dark and eerie Perth, ten to six in the morning and the birds are talking to each other and driving me nuts.

Thanks folks - I really fancy the DIY aspect of all this and will wander around and see what is in the shops.
I can't hear anything outside now - the music is drowning it all out. I live in a flat in the city centre and I have a really nice neighbour who, unfortunately, has a drum kit and seems to be a nocturnal drummer. And I thought that my late tom cat's snoring was bad.

Dizzieblonde - pretty apt name, because I am going blond tomorrow (maybe). I have been pondering how they get the wire to go in and out of the little holes. It is probably really easy, but I can't see how.
Lots of thinks in life are confusing - they actually put 'bbe' dates on chocolate. Why would you have chocolate in the house and not eat it? It is medicinal for girls and tastes so damned good.
Thanks all.

Thanks all.
I bought a comb binder from Stationery Box in town for 9.99, by the time I had worked out how it worked I had jammed the punch.
I wrote a little kiddies story, laminated it and bound it together.
I am now on the second one.
I sent my 'book' to my little neice/niece - and an waiting to hear back from her as to whether it was any good.
Now I am up and running I am writing another book. I have these great ideas and then run out of steam.
THANKS EVERYBODY.
