My teeny tiny Philipine dentist (she is very good) told me that all newly qualified dentists in the UK have to do a set number of hours working in prisons. She told me she had to go to high security male prisons to treat the inmates.
Is this true?
Not as far as i'm aware, none of the newly qualified student in my hospital(its a university teaching hospital) do I get treatment by the students and as do lots of members of the public, my las student is now in a dental practice working as are two of my previous students, we do get graduated students come back to the hospital to work as DCT's (dental core trainees) for about a year or so to gain more experience.
