The first 10-minute DF monologue, in my opinion, was amateurish and not really that funny. I think the Vicar of Dibley was of its time, relying heavily on the interaction of the many different characters, these monologues are not the Vicar of Dibley.
They are doing a compilation of the three ten minute shows on Wed 23rd on BBC1 so will watch that.
I thought her monologue about Alice Tinker / Emma Chambers was rather moving, actually. It was obvious that Dawn found it difficult, and I don't think the moment when she almost began to cry was acting at all.
There's a good section from the April sermon when Geraldine begs Jim to come home, he has mistaken 2M Social Distancing as keeping 2 Miles apart - brilliant!
I agree there Jim, heartfelt.

But then so many want a laugh, not real life.
But the programme has never been a pure all-out comedy, though, so I'm really not sure what the problem is. The scene where Mrs Cropley died was no less moving - a tour-de-force from Liz Smith.
