I don't think it is anything like mao's china what a sheltered thing to say. I do not believe him when he says that a university refused to publicise his event on the grounds that it was "antagonistic to woke culture". I do not think that is something a university official would be likely to say.

Mm... what a peculiar way of wording it. "Experienced a controversy relating to..." - not that they have actually been found to suppress free speech, but "experienced a controversy." I think this daily mail writer is among those desperate to manufacture outrage and attack the reputation of our universities.
