Hope you're all safe as just seen pictures of floods and rivers bursting their banks, talk about 2020 going out with a bang
Stay safe all of you
We stayed in tier three, stepson was due to travel here today ( Norwich) but they've gone from 2 to 4 tier, so we've decided that when the Tiers are lifted no matter what month, we will have another Christmas dinner with his presents ,party hats etc, we will miss him but so will millions more miss their loved ones too
Merry Christmas x

I think there will be a lot of people doing that, Bobbi. My 85 year old mum has decided not to risk it and my daughter is, as you know, in rehab chokey. Roll on......March......May.......July.....December?

It's the sensible of options Zac, hope your daughter keeps on improving back to full health xx
my friends were going away for Christmas but since being in Tier 4 can't
You have reminded of the best xmas day I have ever had....in July. Full xmas dinner wirh salad to start, roast Turkey and trimmings and mincepies and ice cream for pud. It was really lovely because there was absolutely no pressure to, for example, get dinner on time, make it all perfect etc....and silly gifts that did not cost much but made us all laugh. Thanks you for bringing that memory back .... and have two great Christmas days

Ah Mallyj thank you , you too
I've left my turkey in the freezer with the hope of an Easter family get together. No point cooking it for 2 of us!!!
I'm in the clear patch shown here - https://tinyurl.com/jj7sr7q

Looking at a 3/4 cloud-covered sky, with blue patches & weak sun.

County Council have advised that due to Govt ruling, we're in Tier 4 from Boxing Day. Won't make a bit of difference to me.

(Not directly solely at the OP) - In the names of all the gods & little fishes - suck it up, show some patience, stop whinging & get on with it.

The world turns & taking each day as it comes is easier than trying to out-guess what's around the corner.

The world turns & those loved ones & friends will - hopefully (cos that's how it's turned out) - be there in a few months & "socialising" with them will be ok.

The world turns & what happens in other countries is *beyond your ability to change*, so stop mithering about it & look to yourself & those you care for. When you're satisfied that you've done (or will do) what you can, then & only then (if you're desperately bored) look at the news again.

Apologies for hijacking your thread with a rant, Bobbisox.

I wish all AB'ers, their families & friends the best Christmas possible & I'll raise a glass to the lot of them soon. :-))
We're doing OK Bobbi, just east of Norwich. Some of the villages south of here are flooded and evacuated, but we're fine. Staying home now although we could have gone to family tomorrow, this new strain of the virus is spreading so rapidly, we've decided to self isolate. We have plenty to eat and drink and happily settled indoors.
Thanks for asking and Merry Christmas to you and yours Bobbi.
My brother and his family popped round earlier to swap pressies on the doorstep. My SIL and nephew stayed in the car and we just waved. We were supposed to spend Christmas day together but obviously that's not happening.
