Think of the savings on the money we pay them every year. Don't know how they would survive on their own considering oil revenues are collapsing.

Scotland doesn't have a central bank, a massive deficit and no currency.
I don't understand why the question of Scottish independence arouses such animosity and passion in England. Why do passionate supporters of English independence from the EU oppose Scottish independence from the UK?
I don't think it's animosity Atheist ,it's a case if that's what they want , who cares? Not me
//I don't understand why the question of Scottish independence arouses such animosity and passion in England.\\

It doesn't.
I only know the passion seems to come from the like of Nicola Sturgeon and the SNP and some abers who are Scots.
Personally I believe that any anti Scot feeling with some has been caused by Nicola Sturgeon herself
Minty doesnt want indpendence, not sure if she is the only Sot on ab who thinks its a bad idea.
Scot...
Yes Minty is very sure she doesn't and says Nicola isn't exactly flavoursome right now up there
Yet she is going great guns when you see the polls. I hope they don't split
Minty is a sot? Love it!
that was a typo Jack as you can see...
In 2014 Scotland was threatened with ending up outside the EU if they decided to leave the UK.

Any link to these threats?
lol ...Scotland has already voted and said NO.. Nicola is fast losing popularity up here ...the YES Bravehearters tend to scream and shout very loudly giving the false impression that Scotland is behind her..we have ALREADY spoken..NO NO NO NO....
I don't care whether they go or stay. I think its one of those 'feisty wee country with a fightin' heritage" things....for many people its a lovely dream, all Braveheart and Alan Breck Stuart drinking to The King Over The Water....but reality....hell no
UK (not English) independence from the EU is a very different matter to Scottish independence from the UK. The EU is a body external to our nation that is undemocratic, unelected (save for the near powerless sop of parliament which tends to vote as told on issues they didn't raise), and far too diverse and large to be considered or felt to be a single people deciding matters for themselves. It should be a trading block between nations but instead insists on being a federal block under control of an elite. The UK is the polar opposite of that, just the right size to agree we are one people if with limited local variation, and rationally should be one since it is the coming together of the local islands (as best as can be achieved).
