I often get a short sharp pain that almost leaves me breathless for a few seconds when I'm driving. It's actually trapped wind and I find I have to stretch to get rid of it (hence whilst I'm driving - probably don't have my seat positioned properly). Agree with Blondie though - that you should see a doctor. If you're drinking too much and it's your liver, providing it's not been happening for too long, it should improve if you cut down on the alcohol.
thanks for all your advice so far. can i just clarify though that i hardly ever drink. we dont have wine at home even now with a meal and dont finish the bottle when we do. i hardly ever go out socialising either. just so happens that i went out on a friday then the following thursday. i drank alot in my student years and when we went round to friends we could drink wine into the early hours of the morning. i am wondering if it is my liver as i thought it was suppose to regenerate if it was damaged. when i did go out recently i had four pints. on another night i had about 6 jack daniels doubles so, as i said when i went on hols, i had this pain and had to lay off. surely if i havent drunk alcohol for ages then it shouldnt affect me so badly, getting worried!
Bubbles, doesn't seem like you drink a lot, maybe ask your GP for a liver function test, at least that will rule out one avenue of thought. Liver does regenerate itself up to a point and from what you have said yours should be ok but if you are worried its better to get it checked out. good luck.
