Sorry if this has already been asked, but have any Abers had the vaccine yet?
Just reading that Tom Jones and //Great British Bake Off star Prue Leith, 80, Lord Of The Rings star Sir Ian McKellen, 81, Rock and roll legend Marty Wilde, 81, are just some of those to share their happiness after receiving the vaccine.//
These famous people are 80 or 81yrs old. My brother is 84 yrs old and hasn't heard a thing.
Just wondered if any of our over 80's or 75's have had theirs yet?
// Israel has done a million. - whereas in the Land of the Free, they got it on Fri and said - "well we gardda a lodda lodda work to do start Monday!" //
We have done 950,000. Hardly any difference.
(A million of Israelis is 12.6%. Just less than a million in the UK is 1.3%). Israel is not doing much better than us at all.
I had vax part one nearly 3 weeks ago and am due for part two next Friday. I haven't yet heard that that appt has been postponed.
My ex - who had his first vax on the same day as me has already been told his second appt has been cancelled. I can see the logic for the delayed second dose but I would feel happierr if there had been more research published about it.
// More than 600,000 people in the UK have received the first dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine as part of the largest vaccination .//
I thought it was around 140 000
a million I agree is OK
10% of the land of the free is seropositive apparently ( had it once) which I thought incredible - we are still near 1%
Mamya's right, I had my first one on 11 Dec at Brighton hospital. I go for my 2nd one tomorrow and had a text yesterday to confirm it is still on. Can't grumble here, it's very well organised. I'm sorry to hear it's not the same for everyone.
I think (hope) things will even out once the oxford vaccine comes on stream. The Pfizer one does cause issues with its storage and preparation requirements.
ladybirder and also Rosie, I'm pleased you have been able to get it done. I have only heard of one other person who has and that is one of my neighbours who is 90yrs old. I just have this feeling it isn't going to be as quick as they say before we all get it.
My friend who works in a care home has had the jab, funnily enough the next week she tested positive for covid, she also tested positive for covid a few months ago
I've come back to work today to find that my colleagues have had the vaccine. I wanted to book in to have it but it transpires that because I have had Covid, I can't have the jab until 90 days after my positive test. They will probably have run out by then. Grrrr…
where were they doing the inoculations sunk?
Its not done a 'just turn up' basis so unless all the youngster's had diabetes, chronic heart conditions then it cant be right.
Sure it wasnt just testing
Spoke to my great aunt earlier who is a few years younger than my nan (her sister) and she's been given a date to get her jab - 8 Jan. They are registered at different surgeries but both within a mile radius.
