Just a nod to jennyjoan, bednobs, woofgang, et al, who offered advice on putting a tumble dryer in the bedroom.

Arrived today, all plugged in and ready to go. A Bosch, with a 9kg drum, and loads of settings! Good fun to be had.

Mrs A currently unloading the washing machine for our first run, so no more attempting to carry heavy baskets of wet washing down the steps to the garden.

Hooray.

I thought you had installed a pulley system to avoid the hazardous journey down the garden. I love my tumble dryer
And don't forget using a tumble dryer on a gentle heat can avoid a lot of ironing (I don't iron at at all - even when I line dry, my washing gets tumbled for 10 minutes to soften and reduce creases ).
That will lighten the load! Have fun.
I didn't realise Mrs A was home...I'm happy for both of you. Enjoy the new convenience.
attach it to the bed with pieces of string and let it rock you both to sleep.
delighted to hear that your life is going to be easier
Hope Mrs A liked her spotless white nets when she got home!

Yes, we do have the 'zip wire' thing from the decking over the garden, which we will still use - just for the crack!

Mrs A seems content that there is little for her to do - I'm sure many women face a mountain of work if they're stuck in hospital for six weeks, so at least I spared her that.

She's doing okay - over four stone of oedema lighter - but the cause, leaking heart valves, can't be addressed surgically, as they don't think she'd be well enough to have the operation.

But we're together again, and however long it's for, we're going to hang on to each other...

Very best wishes to you both. Take care .
Is her heart problem mitral valve regurgitation, allen?
My best wishes too. Like Mrs A there is not much I can do these days and also, like Mrs A, I have a great husband who has taken on all the jobs I used to do.

Yes barry, mitral.

And to all who have sent good wishes (and especially those with loving partners who share the load), may you live long lives together.

Mrs A is currently hanging the very-slightly-not-100%-dry first load on hangers over radiators. Old habits...

i find my heat pump dryer does not always get things cupboard dry, as it has a sensor so you dont put it on for a set amount of time
Congratulations on your new addition to the family.

So pleased to hear the missus is back where she belongs. x
I'm pleased its all in and fitted, but most of all, pleased that Mrs A is home and you're together again.
