Floating Shelves
11 Answers
I want some floating shelf’s to take my old but good hi-fi seperates. All the shelves I’ve seen are 235mm width. My seperates are around 270mm front to back, not including space for connections. I want shelfs without unsightly brackets. Any ideas.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Method I use is to route a slot into a piece of 2 x 2 the same width as your shelf thickness. Then screw this piece to wall, then glue and screw your shelf into the slot.
Hope this makes sense?

I don’t think you’ll get a ‘floating’ shelf that deep. This (which is quite smart) is 300mm deep

Alternatively have a look at IKEA, search for wall shelves, one example here

This company also does 300mm deep and they come in a choice of finishes.
