Sonos As1 Speaker

I would be interested to know if anyone else has had trouble with their AS1 speaker, and whether they were able to rectify it. I cannot get mine to communiate with anyone or anything. I feel that the problem is that the microphone is permanently muted. Putting a finger on it, pressing it hard or softly, with something other than a finger - nothing works.
