He sure did!
He really did. I'll stick to the old days when he was decent.
I wonder if dot hawkes was watching...
Watching was ok...it was the listening she will have found difficult.
Amazing Grace is a hymn written to be murdered.
He did it dependably well.
Thankfully the young lady poet Amanda Gorman made up for it.
Her poem was inspiring.
I'd not realised America did not have a poet laureate until so recently.
Many states had their own, even some cities and counties!
Watched a bit of it. I thought he was alright.

OH put music on upstairs while he's having a bath, so I started dinner and listened to Bob Marley instead :-)
I haven't watched this but I thought it was some sort of State occasion. It sounds like a variety show. Were there any acrobats?
Here's a good version. We used to sing it at school and even we did it better than Brooks. I don't like him, he doesn't let his dogs in the house. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=amazing+grace+judy+collins
sorry, better link
Disappointingly, no. Maybe next time...

;)
Mine was to New Judge.
Didn't the White House have a clown living there - I think that he has just moved out. ☺
Click on the title of this video (rather than on the Play button) to access the relevant Youtube page and then read the comments below the video. Those Americans who aren't criticising his apparent political allegiance seem to all be saying how well he performed the song!

PS: I've only listened to a few snatches of it myself. 'Amazing Grace' is one of just a very small number of songs that I totally HATE and simply can't bring myself to listen to!
Not keen, myself, Chris but Dave has just played Garth murdering it. I think it was a punishment for losing my appetite just as he served dinner...thanks, Ducksie... :-(
I can't stand Amazing Grace, just something I didn't take to at all.
