A lot of snow has fallen overnight. I wondered if anyone has ever seen a clear border of where it is snowing and where it isn't, it must exist especially if there is no wind to blow the snow about.
I've never seen such a thing but I have experienced a street where it was raining heavily on one side and was totally dry on the other. That was bizarre, standing on the dry side I could see the rain coming down in sheets.
A wee trip up the A9 in winter is what you need, barry.
Blue skies and sunshine to white-out is not unknown. Inverness to Perth yesterday went from freezing but clear to where did that snow come from to dry roads about 10 miles north of Perth and onward to home.
douglas, I was on that road many years ago and experienced extreme, sudden weather change. It was frightening as I was sandwiched between two lorries and could hardly see my bonnet. That was in the middle of summer.
Just watched a snow front from my flat window, it followed a track about 200 metres from my block heading towards Solihull. I often see the edges of rain & snowfalls that go past. You wouldn't know at ground level.
Yesterday it was snowing heavily in our back garden but when I looked out of the front window there was hardly anything coming down. Same thing happens quite a lot with rain showers here.
