Does the 563167 not represent the positions if the letters in the nine-letter word? If so, the letters wouldn't repeat would they?

GORDON doesn't work for DOCTORING or CORRODING with the rules I assumed.
In my example TAXIDERMY (which has no repeating letters) gives 1=T, 2=A, 3=X, 4=I, 5=D, 6=E, 7=R, 8=M, 9=Y. That leads to 563167 being DEXTER.
