I am transgender (agender similar to non-binary but not quite) and everyone keeps mis gendering me because of my long hair I'm going to have it cut soon but my parents (they are transphobic so I am not coming out to them) wont let me cut my hair short claiming it looks to masculine even though I know plenty of women with short hair who aren't trans is there a way I can convince/trick my parents into letting me have a short haircut? Much obliged to any answers that come through.

If you are old enough to take yourself to the hairdressers, you are old enough to wear your hair how you want it.

Gently but firmly point out this fact to your parents, then go and get your hair cut how you want it.
What do your parents think you are, think you look like?
I wonder if your long hair is a nuisance for you...if you are an active person then it could get in the way, if you are a swimmer then getting the chlorine out of it is a pain as is drying it all the time..let alone keeping it in good condition, if it is windy then it really gets in your face all the time, does it get caught up in, for example, door handles? I am sure you get the point I am making! I wonder how old you are because there does come a point where you can just go and get it cut yourself ..... oddly I was not allowed to have long hair because I swam loads and my mum said it would be hard to look after....at 14 I refused to go to a hairdresser and have had long hair ever since. Don't, ever, ever try to cut it yourself....trust me on that!
Is it possible to go to the hairdresser's on your own? If so, I can only suggest you do that. It's your hair, your parents can have a say but in the end it's your decision. I would encourage you only not to "trick" you parents if at all possible, although I am sorry that they're being obstructionist on this.
Am puzzled as to how you can get everyone to spot your transgender but keep it secret from your parents,???
Agree with jim and others aswell
Don't try to play games, just be calm and polite and tell them you want a shorter more manageable hairstyle.
Are you in US? No haircuts here in wales or in UK unless its a DIY job
Put a load of chewing gum in it and tell your parents they know what's coming next.
Well I may have the same problem but I’m waiting till I move out to do anything about it
Shave your head and buy a wig, simples.
It's got to be asked SS, but how old are you? If you're still a minor then I'm afraid you might have to suck it up for a while, but if you're legally adult, then you should do as you please.

Thankyou for all the answers, I am currently 16 for those asking. I hope all of you beautiful people have a lovely day and thanks again for helping me out.
Good luck to you SS. I hope your parents come round to accept you in time.
The belief that hair length defines gender demonstrates a lack of intelligence and objectivity.
What would happen if you got your hair cut short? Would you be punished. I suggest getting a hairstyle magazine and finding a shorter but still feminine style, taking it in small steps might be easier, once it's shorter you can gel it into a more boyish look. failing that a nasty accident with a tube of superglue would be better than chewing gum.
