Three stars usually means "woahhhhh, awesome answer" two stars means " yep was a good answer" and one means "thanks for replying".....

Well my take on it anyway. I don't think they have an "official" status.
oh and three stars makes the recipient think......"yayyyy to me" lol

Thank you for mine ;-)

Hmmmm, thanks for the promt reply.

But does that mean the one star my answer got is good or were they basically saying "thanks, don't call us, we'll call you"? Looking at it, i did respond with quite a hostile tone, which was probably overly harsh, but is a silly question with the amount of money that is wasted in todays society.
I think BOO was about right... the OP was giving you a lil kudos for replying, but prolly didnt agree with your answer/tone, hence the 1 star :)
Yeah more than likely MrP, some folks will look to see whether you've agreed with their opinion and base the star rating on that.

Obviously the fair way would be to rate a reply on whether the response received was a valid point, regardless of whether you agreed or not. However human nature being what it is, that's not often done.

ok, thanks for the answers again guys. I was just a bit confused why only two of the answers have ratings, but hey, its almusic10's thread i guess he can rate what he wants.

Cheers all!
Be grateful for a "*" some folk don't bother saying thanks even if no-one else has helped...
to post an extension of the original question though...how do you apply stars? Right-clicking or double-clicking doesn't seem to work nor can I find any tabs or other things that could complete this task.

Thanks in advance
nuclear hi- to answer your query- you can only add ratings to replies if you yourself have set the question.
