I suffer quite badly from the above and it often causes severe sinus headaches. I was prescribed a nasal spray Avamys by the ENT chap at the hospital and it certainly helped -a lot -but it caused be to have quite severe nosebleeds when I blew my nose! So I’ve stopped using it. No nosebleeds now but the catarrh is back! Any advice??

Common side effect, apparently. Scroll right down here and it says you should stop using for a few days, then start again.

Yes.
Nose bleeds are an unfortunate side effects of nasal sprays and will occur wherever spray you may use.
The nose bleeds originate from a prominent vessel on the lining of your nose and will need cauterisation before you can continue with the spray.
Go back to your ENT man.
