I was wondering if there had been any research on the effects of the Covid injection on people with long Covid. I had a quick google but couldn’t see anything

Bit confused here puzzled.
Do you mean the effect of the Covid vaccine on people who are suffering from long Covid OR do you mean if the vaccine reduces the number of people who develop long Covid?
//But people who are currently unwell with Covid-19 should not receive the vaccine until they have recovered.//
Danny.....I assume that relates to the acute phase, not to patients with long term covid........I assume.
Sqad, is "long covid" different from standard Post Viral syndrome? Or is it the same thing?
pixie.....just guessing that they are both the same thing.
Sqad, it is excerpt from an article about 'long covid'.
Danny, I am sure it is, but doesn't answer my question does it?
puzzled.i'm still confused so I will bow out by saying that it is far too early to gauge the effect of Covid vaccine on ANYTHING.

Just back from my daily walk. What I meant was the effect of the injection on people who are suffering with long Covid
here's what the British Lung foundation say
"Can I have the vaccine if I’m experiencing symptoms of long COVID?

There isn’t any evidence to suggest the vaccine will cause symptoms of long COVID to be made worse. If you’ve had a confirmed case of coronavirus you should still have the vaccine when you are invited to do so. Although it is hoped people who have had the virus will have some level of immunity, this isn’t guaranteed. You should still be vaccinated when you have the opportunity."

I suspect the answer depends on how bad the post covid symptoms are.
a second thought.....People with long covid, like people with PVFS, aren't actually still infected?....its the after effects of infection....so The risk would be if any side effects of the vac would be dangerous on top of whatever after effects the person had?
had a look at the page aaaaand
there seems to be nothing on vacc - besides have it

in your case I imagine it is too late

long covid - you are clearing covid slowly and inefficiently and I dont see that vaccination will change that
nor was designed to do that

Lon Covid - if you wait long enough it goes
// People with long covid, aren't actually still infected?.//

yes - no they have looked at that - slow elimination so that someothing like 70% are neg at 9 m

sort of - yes we are looking at long resolution times
Thanks, sqad x
// Sqad, is "long covid" different from standard Post Viral syndrome? // well since you asked one is a subset of the other

take lots of people wiv Long Covid ( as in I had covid and I feel awful still after x months)
some will test positive some negative
some can be post viral - but they shouldnt be positive ( not post- geddit)
and so on
and you can follow them up....

and you get an article like this

https://www.bmj.com/content/370/bmj.m3026

which says "if you wait a long enough time - alot will get better" and then you read the next article

and puzzled 54 - there is nothing on long covid and the vaccine as one wasnt really designed to cure/prevent the other - see above
Thanks pp x I know it's nothing to do with the vaccine- I just wondered if it was the same principle.
