Any suggestions please ,on the best,safest way to clean my laptop screen?

Monster ScreenClean is the best.

Spray some on, use the cloth provided. Clean, safe and smear free.

Ive just bought some more from Ebay as its normally cheaper than the shops. Comet sell it too. (well they used to!)

Kleeneze have wipes for computers and VDU, I find them excellent. Cheers Hard@it

Whatever you use, avoid anything that contains alcohol as this is harmful to TFT screens.
