damn it's time for new glasses. I hate doing it online, but hate paying the prices of thehigh street - is there a compromise?

That’s a shame.
Last specs I bought were from a Specsavers which is inside our nearest Sainsburys. They were nearly as competitively priced as Asda and as Asda had stopped selling the red framed pair I broke, I saw some on Specsavers so decided to give them a go. I’d use them again.
This was prior to COVID though.
