Morning all.....a better night's sleep it must be said, only woken up by a text coming through from my daughter who is now back home...
Why I wasn't on yesterday was that texts were streaming back and forth between a friend of hers and me as she was readmitted the night at 10.30pm before with heavy bleeding. Essentially the cyst has burst and come through. This was after, supposedly being put with covid patients for a while in A&E or so her friend heard.
The Gynae ward discharged her but she still felt awful with other pains, nausea and dizziness so she went back into A&E. Before I was able to get through, her friend did and spoke to the Matron who went ballistic with the Gynaes for releasing her and heard about the covid 'incident'. 'I promise action within the hour'.
She was moved to her own room and breakfast appeared. Then the Matron appeared apologising for the early release and that there had been mis-information passed to her friend about the covid. Then it was the head of infectious diseases who came in, did the necessary and was back inside 75 minutes with the lab results - 'you have gastric flu - it's not unusual for something like this to ride in with the cyst'. Then came a 'surprise' and more material against the gastros here in Treliske - 'do you know that we can also see a trace of Lyme's Disease in your blood....'
She got home around midday, having picked up meds for the flu and some M&S food (they have a small store in the hospital) and she went to bed and slept until 11pm - no surprise but at least she's out - this was the Jimmy Saville hospital in Leeds, St. James.
