Why are there 'female' and 'male' lesbians
13 Answers
Why is it that in a lesbian relationship there often seems to be a 'female' and a 'male' in the couple, one seems feminine and one is usually short haired masculine looking. Sureley if the 'feminine' partner likes to go for partners like this, then they would be attracted to men. The masculine partner usually dresses in male clothes and adopts the mans role within a relationship so why does the 'feminine' partner just settle for a male.

I think maybe one of the girls has to assume a more dominant role within the realtionship? I think all relationships have a more dominant partner when it comes to sex i.e. active/ passive (dominating/ submissive) roles in the bedroom. More of a submissive gurl myself lol.

Err ... Kelfoan, how many lesbian couples do you know away from the telly? Only the types of women that women fancy are as varied as the types of women that men fancy. And I can honestly say that of all the lesbian women/couples I know, I can't think of one couple who seem to fit the stereotype you've described.
I work in a large public sector organisation. there are 3 couples who fit this stereotype. OK , I'll throw this in the pot.. Why are there also alot of lesbian 'male' couples, ie both partners are butch. surely they would be more inclined to pair up with straight males. Don't get me wrong.. I have absolutely no problem with lesbians, just want to try and understand them more
