....not the details of the easing of lockdown. I couldn't see any mention of facemasks. You know, those things that have served no purpose. There was no requirement to wear them in the first lockdown, and the numbers fell to almost single figures. Then, it became compulsory, and the figures shot up! These are facts, ppl. Wot? The figures would have been worse without facemasks, I hear you say. How do you know that? Have people been having premonitions?

Actually, OH does tell them that because otherwise he can't hear what they are saying to him. Audiology services have collapsed completely in this area - they don't even answer the phone - and his aids are no longer anything like adequate. I'ts making life extra difficult.

Some news sources have, over the last few months, predicted that wearing face masks when shopping, etc, might have to become permanent. Others have suggested that they might only be required in the winter months in shops but all year round on public transport.
