Why do some answer bank user names appear in green?

Why do some answer bank user names appear in green text whilst others are grey?

Cos they're newbies, and on probation.

It's a shame that being a seasoned member of AB that you fade to grey. You'd think that after being given a million or so stars in my AB lifetime that my user name would be gold with twinkling lights around it and a trumpet fanfare every time I post.

Alas, still grey and silent. At least baldness hasn't set in yet.

I am sure I was never green. I came out blue and went white after they washed me.
