Remote Locking Problems

For Some reason the front passenger door won't lock/unlock with the remote key.I can only work it if I lock the passenger door from the inside and then use the key when I get out. Any help out there???????
prev does any one know if flame thrower exhausts are legal in the uk

could be a faulty door solonoid or the wires to it.
