I'm thinking of making my own pikelets (the thick, holey ones that some people insist on calling crumpets).
I have never eaten home made ones before and toast shop bought ones.

If I make my own will I still have to toast them or do they come of the frying pan ready to eat?

Nor me, but the family much prefers my home made scones to any shop bought and they all love pikelets so I thought I'd try them. I know they are cheap as chips in the supermarket.
I thought pikelets were the thinner ones that look like crumpets someones sat on.

I'm not starting that debate.
If you want to eat them straight from the pan then flip over carefully so you don't spread the still runny batter into the holes.

Good tip, Mamya. Have you made them?
Once and found that in truth they weren't any better than Warburtons - but then I'm no baker.
Well, the thin ones have always been pikelets in my book (and Waitrose too)...
