I would not class myself as 'woke' in any shape or form, but I agree than Mr. Mrs. and all 'M's' in between are really not necessary anymore. When I fill in forms it annoys me that they need to know my marital status, eithe Miss or Mrs., and Ms. sounds pretentious. Why can't we just drop the Prefixes altogether? They are outdated nonesense.
I'll stick with Mrs., quite happy with that. If necessary I would also be happy just to be known by my birth name as I was in France. It is not generally known here, but in France your birth (nom de famille) name is your legal name and remains so despite marriages etc.. I discovered this when I bought a house under my ex-married name (which I had continued to use in UK and never thought twice about). All the paperwork had to be redrawn, at some expense.
