The only comparison i can see between the two is that they both contain incidents that occurred during the 'Troubles'. There are quite a few films about that particular period in time, one of which is The Journey (2016) - an imagined meeting between Martin McGuinness and Ian Paisley, played by Colm Meaney and Timothy Spall respectively.

Was agreeing with others that Bloodlands was disappointing and this film, set against the same backdrop, is superior.
