Apple To Pc
11 Answers
Simplistic question from a non-tech savvy person. I have always had Apple products including iPhone and iPad, but most significantly MacBook. The MacBook is dying now and I am fed up with the expense of Apple compared to any other laptop. Is it easy to transition from Apple to generic PC? Will I be able to transfer my personal use which is basically photos and music library seamlessly? Have access to all my data in the iCloud or am I stuck with Apple?

you can use icloud on a PC. personally I hate loathe and despise windows. I have got it in Bootcamp on my mac to use a couple of programs that don't work on a mac but otherwise i would not bother with it. https:/ /suppor t.apple .com/en -gb/HT2 01391

Sg, I’m in a similar predicament with Apple and have three options in my sights : New Mac Mini M1, iPad Pro (13”)or PC.
I have used Apple (or have they used me?) since the early 90s.
Currently I’m using a smaller iPad Pro which is good, plus I have a 21”iMac (2019) upstairs which has the speed of an aged slug! - I used to be very pro-Apple, but got really hacked off with them when they ruined iTunes AND lost most of my music files that I paid good money for. Got most of these files in iCloud, but majority can’t be played or converted!
Sorry this doesn’t answer your question and is more of a rant! Just thought I would share similar feelings....

Good luck with windows, Apple products are far superior. I have the iPad Pro 12.9 inch, which is the original one going back to 2015. I use it for hours every day, never any problem. Have to keep it plugged in more now as battery not holding so well, other than that still as good as when I had it. I know it will cost me a lot of money to replace and I will this year, either with the new MacBook Air which is meant to be an excellent product or the new iPad Pro when it comes out next month. Think you will regret your decision but if money is an issue then I can understand why.
I have always used Windows and Android but got an iPad Pro as a gift.
It is okay, no better overall than my much, much cheaper Android tablet but the iPad has one big drawback which will stop me ever buying another iPad or iPhone. You cannot create other user profiles on Apple devices as you can with Android. That is important to me and I can see no good reason for Apple not to allow it.
sg, you'll be fine with a Windows machine.
