I am still looking for a better answer, because I can't make sense of what a dragon's back has to do with a monster up the rock. In the case of 'cracking weighty fish' (even though very cryptic and obscure) the answer 'Rivington Pike' makes sense: 'riving' as in cleaving; 'ton' as in weight; and 'pike' as in fish. I know a dragon is a monster, but I don't see that a dragon's back' is a 'monster up the rock'. But thanks for making the response.
