Most supermarkets have a section for half fat/low fat cheeses but bear in mind they still have a relatively high fat content when compared to other foodstuffs.
Personally i like Leerdammer Light - you can buy it sliced so helps with counting the calories
laughing Cow have recently ibtroduced extra light cheese spreads at 20 cals a triangle. They are OK but not a patch on the full fat version. Spread on a cream cracker it at least makes you think you are not missing out!!

ooer! get off your high horse geff, i was only trying to help , a lot of my friends (when they're on diets) always go for cottage, edam, gouda or the veggie version so they don't lose the cheeses but halve the so called fat! maybe there's a web site that could help , have googled but couldn't find anything relevant... so over to you mr big head
Asda do Lescol which ...supposedly ..has 90% less cholesterol than mature cheddar. They also do Weight Watchers cheese....half fat.To be honest they are tasteless.
I have been following a low fat low cholesterol diet now since January and to be honest much as I love cheese would rather go without than eat this muck.
Cheese is OK in moderation and a piece of cheese ..matchbox size.... a couple of times a week is OK. Not much consolation but better than nothing.Cheese is one of the fattiest foods you can eat ..so it's grin and bear it really !!

so my poor friends have been deluding themselves all this time on thier diets, (haha) as for me, i buy veggie cheese (not because i diet ) just cause it made me feel better concerning the animal side of it,but now you've put me off it, so thank you for enlightening me mr big'ed i stand corrected! :-)
Allotment, I was not trying to put you (or anybody else) off cheese but just trying to clarify a few things.
I love cheese but tend to eat it only on special occasions - real cheese from a cheese shop with some nice wine. Unfortunately I am not exactly slim and so prefer a little of the good stuff occasionally.
Enjoy your cheese - whatever you choose.
