Marinating Bags

Can anyone recommend some marinating bags, all the ones ive looked at online give the size in litres and not cm, i want some big enough for a whole leg of lam or a whole chicken and some smaller ones for putting about a pound or two of diced pork in, trying to work out how a litre bag would hold it quite difficult.

Have a look on Tesco. They have loads of different sizes or look on Amazon, they have a question and answer section about products you're looking at.

I'm useless with sizes as well.

Searching for 'marinating bags' (or 'marinade bags') seems to suggest that they're basically just bog standard zip lock bags. Every type I've found on Amazon states the actual dimensions, either in both the description at the top of the page and under 'Technical Details' or solely under 'Technical Details'. Either way, the size is always stated, so I'm a little confused about what it is that you're seeking.

Some brilliant answers here thank you, so what size do I need for a whole chicken or leg of lamb, i'm going to go half the size for marinating diced pork or lamb or drumsticks etc.

Just get the biggest one so there's no chance of the leg bone protruding and plenty of room to roll it in the marinade once you've sealed the bag.

To give you some reference points, the big plastic buckets that builders or decorators might use typically hold around 14 litres. e.g. https://tinyurl.com/y4bpj3cx

So, for your larger food items, try to think of what size bucket you might need to accommodate it. That should guide you as to your choice of bags.

A litre would be roughly a cube with each side 4 inches (or 10cm). That's not very big. If you can imagine a cube of that size and then picture your meat , you might get some idea. If you have a measuring jug you could imagine your meat fitting in up to the litre mark.

You could always out it directly into a backing tray and tightly cover.
