Debbie in Emmerdale

Why do Cain and Debbit not get on in Emmerdale. I havent watched it since she got pregnant and they were happy as father and daughter then so where did it go wrong?

Debbie didn't really bond with the baby and Emily (Paddy's ex) who was living with the Dingles took over childcare. Debbie decided she didn't want baby Sarah brought up a Dingle and gave her to Emily who ran away with her. Cain and the rest of the family have all been furious with her since then. Also they weren't very happy when she had an affair with the Vicars niece.
