Meeting a family friend for her Birthday, we will need to wrap up warm, it’s sunny but very cold

Yes at 12, I said I wouldn’t go any later as she’s an alcoholic now after losing her husband last August , she was always a heavy drinker but now it’s all day and I can’t be bothered when she starts slurring as soon as 3 pm , then she can turn quite nasty too
Why we going?
Because we used to go on holidays with them and we’ve known them for years, my grandson calls them his grandparents as they never had a family

how sad is that Bobbi, can she not seek help for her alcohol problem.

She doesn’t see herself as an alcoholic Emmie but her first Gin is usually around 09-30 am

that is bad Bobbi, my brother's next door neighbour is like that, only with her its wine, she has had more accidents than anyone i know because of it. Every time i have been there she's in plaster or worse.

I’ve tried talking to her but have given up, her only brother died an alcoholic, it falls on deaf ears

i wonder if she had alcoholic parents, runs in the family perhaps....
