I have a jug which is the same make, pattern etc as the one in the link, but mine is a different shape. I've always liked it since it belonged to my Mum, but some of the silver lustre has worn away and there is a small piece broken off the base. I would love to get it repaired but have no clue as to where I could take it. Any ideas? TIA

Very pretty, I like the colours. Hope you get some good replies.
Check with retailers of china or an antique dealer.

danny, would it be classed as an antique?
Barsel, I used to collect lustreware and I always found items at antique fairs.
Have you thought about applying to The Repair Shop?

If you don't like that idea, you need a ceramics restorer - google for one local to you. Good idea to speak to the antique dealers, they should be able to recommend

danny, I've found a few antique shops not to far from where I live and I know there are often antique fairs near where my daughter lives, so will try them for info.
Barry, I realise it would be cheaper to replace, but it belonged to my Mum and possibly my Nanna so I'd rather pay to have this one repaired. Will have a look for ceramics restorer though.
Barsel, it depends on how much you want or are willing to pay. A local search would be your best bet. The lustre would be easier to repair than replacing a missing part. I personally would keep it in its original condition as the value in it is surely memories of your mum rather than monetory value.
Question Author
Absolutely APG.I just thought it would be nice to restore it to it's former condition, but I won't be selling it. Don't know how much I would be willing to spend on a repair, but I certainly wouldn't go overboard.
Barsel, some lustreware jugs are not so cheap.
Question Author
To be honest with you barry, mine is the only one I've ever seen, so I'd like to go to an antiques fair sometime to see if there are other things I may like.
Question Author
Sorry. I mean danny. I always get you two mixed up. :-)
