The first paid job I ever did, at the age of 16 (between 5th form and 6th form) was in a pork pie factory. The bushes next to the work's canteen were covered in big, fat, hairy caterpillars. Can you guess where a lot of them ended up?
We were very selective though. They were only ever added into the pies destined for M&S customers ;-)

I can't recall seeing many caterpillars at all during the past few years ;-)
