Helloo~
This isn't a serious question or anything, I'm only curious about this. Recently I've been wondering if there are people out there welling to "date" someone online but while maintaining thier... Privacy? Or rather just keeping the alias they have and not get too personal, and if that was even possible. I've online friends whom I knew for years and only recently we started sharing photos of each other, so we never really knew how we looked liked and honestly never really cared. But I'm not sure if there are people who would actually fall in love (lightly not so deeply) with someone online without knowing much about them. I'd like to know your opinions.
Thank you~

how can you fall in love lightly?
I think it can happen but many people are deceived and scammed by such encounters.

That has put me off somewhat, but I have recovered.

Love is what you perceive and what your idea of love really is and it varies from person to person. If you feel that you have fallen in love with someone online, then you have.
Yes, it is an experience, there may or may not be a price to pay, so go for it.
There are plenty of people online who hook up anonymously just for sex. Is that what you mean?
You may fall in love with the on-line persona but at some point you would want to meet them, and you may then find out they are nothing like what you thought they were.

I had a friendship through an online forum for around 3 years, when we eventually met, we did not get on at all, it was quite embarrassing really as we had to spend the whole day together and it was obvious to us both it would be the first and last time we met.
Internet dating can be interesting, challenging, dangerous and totally fulfilling..........what more does one want in life?
Online sex can be injurious if you don't have a sturdy desk.
Reported ^^^^ Smut ;o(
Even as online friends, you can't really know or trust anyone online. Do what you like, but be very careful.
Not my fault the table collapsed, don't sulk.
Ahem...
To answer your question Kid: there are couples who have "met" on this very site. I'm sure a spark was there, but I imagine it wasn't until they met in person that anything flourished.
and just to add to The Builder's answer, not all those relationships worked out, because bad people do conceal things about themselves.
ooh Jno and the builder ..... I never even thought about people falling for each other on AB,

Im gonna be trying to guess who these Ab'ers may be now :)

how did these people manage to get to be in "proper" contact with each other as surely a tele num / email etc wld be needed? And only admin' (I guess) can access that.
You're okay as long as the spark doesn't set fire to Mamya's sturdy desk.... ;-)
Buy cheap desks, future firewood in the making and up in flames. Whether that has anything to do with calling someone 'my flame', I have no idea.
eve, there aren't many of them on this thread...
It's me!!! All you lovely ladies know it's me! You all know how much you love me and how much I broke all your hearts! You just don't want to admit it cos you'll be too embarrassed!! :o)

"Somewhere my love, we'll meet again some day"!!!!

Well, maybe not! ;o)
I think some people use dating sites as a bit of sport, seeing how far they can reel someone in with no intention of ever meeting them, not for financial gain, just to make up for their own inadequacies.
