Oil Pump Retract
Hi, sometime when I press the oil pump handle, it will retract automatically. I can only continue to pump the gas into the tank by pressing the handle gently and holding it . This make the discharge extremely slow. This only happen in some petrol station. Anyone know what happen here?

You are most likley pushing the end of the nozzel up against an obstruction in the filler hole (the side of the rubber hose that conects the filler hole with the tank for example). Or you are pushing the nozzle too far into the filler hole, thus cutting off some of the air. Try withdrawing the pump nozzle slightly and pour in a different direction in the filler hole. This worked for me, but of course you also have to take into consideration that sometimes you can get a defective trigger on the pump.
try changing the angle of the nozzle in the filler hole. my old transit van used to make them 'click off' if i didn't get the angle just right.
don't forget when you find the 'right angle' remember it for next time!
the clicking off is a saftey measure so you don't over fill/ overflow your tank. the nozzle has a presure sensor that senses the fuel when it reaches the end on the nozzle and stops it carrying on.if the end of the nozzle is to close to the side of the filler hole it will think that the slight obstruction is high fuel level.
