I notice most of the reporters kept using the phrase 'unchartered waters' but surely it should be 'uncharted'?

yes indeed, as i once pointed out on here....
In a way the reporters are correct. Unchartered means not having a charter or written constitution, and after Brexit the agreements have been argued over.
