We're having a new fridge/freezer delivered tomorrow, so we'll shut down our now FF early tomorrow, but it is iced up...is it the right thing to defrost?...would the takers-away expect it to be squeaky clean?...an obvious question(s), but didn't think of it before! Ta Muchly and Take Care All.

I had a new Bosch FF installed earlier this year and I was able to use it straight away, I didn't have to wait any time at all.
I had my new fridge/freezer ( bought a couple of months ago) taken down to the correct temperature in the shop overnight. I was then the first delivery in the morning, so everything left in was whipped out as the van drove up and put straight in the new one when they left. Local firm though, not a big name.
they generally don't take them unless they are squeaky clean, so yes defrost is important, because of health and safety, if water seeps out into the van someone could have a very nasty accident.

Are you sure it was a new one they delivered
Do they still sell fridge freezers you have to defrost , nowadays ?

Aren't they all auto defrost
Okedoke the penny has finally dropped, from so far it hurt LOL
I hope the new unit self-defrosts.
It is the 21st century.
Sorry for late reply Bazile. Yes, it was a brand new Bosch frost-free fridge freezer still in it’s packaging, with a small hole cut in the back so they could access the cable to plug it in. They are a lovely company to deal with.
