Weird! The National Lottery was paying out a fiver (as well as a Lucky Dip) to people who matched two numbers yesterday but a payment from them would seem to be unlikely as
(a) I wouldn't expect it to reach your bank account until tomorrow ; and
(b) their reference is usually just 'Prize payment 3'.
Even without the email, if you do the Postcode Lottery, try logging into your account and looking for your actual account number. If it turns out to be P000013617733, you'll have solved the mystery.
Any money i win on the Lottery - won £60 last night for 3 numbers - goes into my Lottery account and i have to manually transfer it to my bank account.
I suspect the payment is pending, Caran, and may well be some sort of scam. Be very careful.
Chris might be on to something Caran by suggesting the National Lottery ? The draw on Sat 24th April (which was a must win draw) would've won you a fiver if you had two numbers from
Caran, i've just entered the ref number details into Google and there are a few 'entries'. If you pay for your lottery tickets by DD, winnings are automatically paid to your bank. I pay as i play.
Just be careful with this. Someone I know had a payment made into their bank account and they were then contacted, told it was a mistake and asked for their card details to repay it.
As it happens, they told them to sling their hook on the basis no one was going to sue for such a small amount of £.
