Just logged on and a banner came up inviting me to win a new iphone, answered 4 questions and bingo, I was told I had won a new phone worth over £1000. All I had to do was to give all my personal details and PAY £1 delivery. I that isn't a scam I'll eat my hat, and no, I didn't give my details or pay a delivery charge. BEWARE

There are lots of ads on this site that are far from trustworthy. The problem is that SilverDisc Ltd, who run this site, get most (or possibly all) of their adverts from third-party companies, some of which clearly aren't too bothered about the integrity of the advertisers they accept content from.

not good for the rep of this site though
There are a few adverts for clothing and one for lovely bras. None of the sites appear to be legit and reliable.
And they want us not to use AdBlockers!

I see hardly any ads at all on this site, even though my browser's ad blocker is disabled. (There are no ads at all as I'm typing this). What I do occasionally see though are a mixture of perfectly legitimate ads and some very dodgy-looking ones.

For example, I had a pop-up at the foot of my screen earlier this evening, advertising the University of Suffolk (which is based just a few miles down the road from me). I'm delighted that one of the newest universities in the country, which has received lots of praise for its courses and its standards, is getting some publicity. However the University's ad has replaced one that I've been seeing for the past week or so in the same position, inviting people to give their opinions in response to a question about Boris Johnson (which was phrased in meaningless gibberish anyway) in the hope of winning a prize. I avoided that one like the plague!
Ads as I browse this thread...shopify, and discovery+. That's it. The latter because I googled it yesterday.
I'm sure there's a reason for every ad we get.
I had one advertising loans
Because of where I live, a lot of ads that I see are for Thai companies and are in Thai (which although I can speak a fair amount, I cannot read or write!). Therefore these ads are pointless for me and are just ignored.
I've just seen the ad with the meaningless question again!

Another one I wouldn't trust!
